Nestled in beautiful Golden Gate Park, this spectacular attraction is one of the world's largest natural history museums. Families will love taking part in fun activities and exploring the unforgettable exhibits like Rainforests of the World, Morrison Planetarium, and Steinhart Aquarium. An eco-friendly design makes this a pleasant place to spend the day with lots of natural lights and excellent visitor amenities.
This LEED certified building is one of the world’s most eco-friendly museums. From the 2.5 acre green roof to the prevalent use of recycled concrete, this building is not only beautiful to look at and fun to explore but good for the environment.
The museum opens its doors every Thursday evening to anyone over 21 looking for a night of fun. Special programs allow visitors to see exhibits after-hours and up close with a cocktail in their hand. From 6 to 9:30 there are several places to grab a bite to eat and enjoy a drink. Every week is a different theme, so check the website for upcoming events.
